BBA in Accounting

Career possibilities are varied and include such opportunities as external auditor, internal auditor, tax advisor, contracting specialist, budget analyst, payroll accountant and forensic accountant.
BBA in Finance

BBA in Accounting Information Technology
With an Accounting Information Technology degree, you鈥檒l be prepared to enter a rapidly growing profession. The 150-hour program awards both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Technology. You鈥檒l graduate ready to start a position like financial analyst, IT consultant, systems analyst or fraud examiner specializing in cybercrime.

Academic and Career Opportunities
Students in both undergraduate and graduate courses collaborate in conducting the research and in co-presenting and co-authoring articles with Accounting faculty. Presentations include conferences such as the national American Accounting Association and the southwest regional American Accounting Association. Publications in academic journals have been in Issues in Accounting Education, Auditing, Journal of Business Ethics, The Journal of the American Tax Association, and the Case Research Journal.
Students in accounting, economics, and finance have access to a wide range of scholarships鈥攂oth on-campus and from external organizations. For accounting-specific awards, students should contact Dr. Camelia Rotaru, Chair of the Accounting, Economics and Finance Department. All students are encouraged to work closely with faculty to ensure their applications are strong and meet all requirements.
The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics falls under The Bill Munday School of Business which earned business accreditation by in 2022. AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators, and businesses worldwide.
The Student-Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) course offers finance majors a unique, hands-on experience in managing a real investment portfolio. Students will take on the roles of fund managers and analysts making investment recommendations intended to achieve long-term growth. Throughout the semester, students will work collaboratively in teams, present their investment recommendations to an advisory board, and provide regular performance reports.
